§ 17296 School Facility Plan Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •Schools can set up places on their property to help kids with things like health care or social services without extra approval from the state.
  • •These places must follow all the local building rules and get approval from the local building department.
  • •This rule only applies if the school works with local governments or has a special program for kids' services.

Example

A school wants to open a small clinic on campus to give kids check-ups and help with minor health problems.

The school can do this without asking the state for extra permission, as long as they follow all the local building rules and get the okay from the local building department. They also need to be working with the local government or have a special program for kids' services.
