§ 16553 District Fund Use Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The state board decides how schools can spend the money they get.
  • •Schools must follow these rules unless they have a really good reason not to.
  • •If a school has a good reason, they can ask the state board to change the rules.

Example

A school gets money from the state to buy new books.

The state says the money can only be used for books, not for fixing the playground. If the school wants to use some money for the playground instead, they have to ask the state and explain why it's important.
