§ 1500 County School Service Funding

This law says that money for the county school board and superintendent to do their jobs must come from the County School Service Fund, but they can also get money from the county's general fund if needed.

Key Takeaways

  • •Expenses for school board and superintendent duties are charged to the County School Service Fund.
  • •The county can still use money from its general fund for those same duties.
  • •This rule applies to many other laws that tell the board and superintendent what they must do.

Example

The county needs to hire a contractor to fix a school roof because another law requires safe school buildings.

The cost of the roof repair has to be paid from the County School Service Fund, but the county can also use money from its general fund to help pay for it.
