§ 14054 County School Service Funding

This law says the state gives money to counties for schools, but there are limits on how much they can get for certain things like teaching help and health services.

Key Takeaways

  • •The state gives money to counties for schools, but there are limits.
  • •Small schools (with fewer students) get less money for things like teaching help and health services.
  • •The state won’t give more money than what the law allows, even if the school asks for more.

Example

A small elementary school with fewer than 901 students asks for extra money for a school nurse.

The state will only give them the amount that was already set by law or what they really need, whichever is less.
