§ 1091 County Board Travel Reimbursement

This law says that if county leaders don't get paid for travel, school board members in that county can get money back for driving to meetings, up to 25 cents per mile.

Key Takeaways

  • •This only applies if the county leaders don't get travel money.
  • •School board members can get up to 25 cents per mile for driving to meetings.
  • •They can only get paid for the miles they actually drive.

Example

A school board member drives 50 miles to a meeting.

They can get paid back for their trip, but only up to 25 cents for each mile they drove.

How to Calculate

Reimbursement = Miles Driven × $0.25

  1. Find out how many miles were driven to the meeting.
  2. Multiply the number of miles by 0.25 (25 cents).
  3. The result is the amount of money they can get back.

A school board member drives 30 miles to a meeting.

Result: 30 miles × $0.25 = $7.50 reimbursement
