§ 6110 Corporate Reorganization Proceedings

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company needs to reorganize (like changing how it works), the rules in Chapter 14 apply.
  • •The word 'shareholders' in Chapter 14 also means 'members' of the company.
  • •This law makes sure the same rules are used for all company reorganizations.

Example

A small business wants to change how it’s run to avoid going broke.

The rules in Chapter 14 will tell them how to do it, and even if the company calls its owners 'members' instead of 'shareholders,' the same rules still apply.
