§ 31202 False Disclosure Statements

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't lie on important papers that the law says you must fill out.
  • •You also can't leave out important facts that the papers ask for.
  • •If you do either of these on purpose, you're breaking the law.

Example

You're filling out a form for a job that asks if you've ever been fired from a job before.

If you say 'no' but you actually were fired, that's lying and it's against the law. Or if you just skip the question on purpose, that's also against the law.
