§ 10107 Waiver Of Warranty Claims

This law says you can give up your right to complain about a broken promise or a bad product by signing a paper saying you won't sue or ask for fixes.

Key Takeaways

  • •You can give up your right to complain about a broken promise or bad product by signing a paper.
  • •Once you sign, you usually can’t ask for money or fixes later.
  • •This only works if you sign a written paper—just saying it out loud doesn’t count.

Example

You buy a used car, and the seller promises it works fine, but the engine breaks the next day.

If you sign a paper saying you won’t complain or sue about the broken engine, you can’t change your mind later and ask for money or repairs.
