§ 9506 Multiple Claimant Stop Payment

Key Takeaways

  • •If many people say they weren't paid, they can team up and sue together.
  • •If they sue separately, the court can combine their cases into one.
  • •The government can ask the court to make everyone join the same case so it's settled all at once.

Example

Imagine three workers didn't get paid by the city for fixing roads. Each sends a notice saying, 'I wasn't paid!'

Instead of three separate lawsuits, the court can say, 'All three of you, come to one trial. We'll figure out who gets paid together.' This saves time and makes things fair for everyone.
