§ 9304 Payment Bond Claim Deadlines

Key Takeaways

  • •You can stop a payment or make a claim if you worked on a project but weren't paid.
  • •You must have given a warning (preliminary notice) first.
  • •The work you did must be within 20 days before you gave the warning.

Example

You painted a house but the owner didn't pay you.

If you told the owner 15 days ago that you might ask for payment, you can now stop them from paying someone else instead of you.
