§ 5875 Emergency Enforcement Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •If there's a big emergency (like a storm or fire), your neighborhood group can't punish you for breaking rules—unless you didn't pay your fees.
  • •This only applies if the emergency makes it unsafe or impossible for you to follow the rules.
  • •The rule starts working when the government says there's an emergency.

Example

A big wildfire is burning near your town, and the mayor says it's an emergency. Your yard gets messy because you had to leave your home, and you can't clean it up yet.

Your neighborhood group can't fine you for the messy yard during the fire emergency because it's unsafe for you to go outside and clean it.
