§ 4950 Board Meeting Minutes Access

Key Takeaways

  • •After a board meeting, the notes (or a summary) must be shared with members within 30 days.
  • •Members can ask for a copy of the meeting notes, but they might have to pay for the cost of printing or sending it.
  • •Every year, the board must tell members they can get these notes and how to ask for them.

Example

Your neighborhood has a board that meets to talk about rules, like where kids can play or how to fix the park.

After the meeting, the board has to write down what was talked about and share it with everyone in the neighborhood within 30 days. If you want your own copy, you can ask for it, but you might have to pay a small fee to cover the cost of printing it. Once a year, the board will also remind everyone that they can ask for these notes.
