§ 91 Limited Civil Case Scope

Key Takeaways

  • •This law applies to most small civil cases (like disputes over money or property).
  • •It doesn’t apply to eviction cases or certain legal actions under specific chapters.
  • •If following this law makes a case too hard to handle, a judge can decide not to use it.

Example

You sue someone for not paying you back $5,000 they borrowed.

This law would apply to your case because it’s a small civil case. But if the case gets too complicated, the judge might say this law doesn’t have to be followed.
