§ 677 School Records Retention Requirements

Every person, firm, association, partnership, or corporation subject to the provisions of this article shall maintain records for at least three years, which records shall be open to inspection by investigators of the Division of Investigation of the department and by peace officers acting in their official capacity. The records shall include the names and address of the persons admitted to the course of instruction and a copy of any written contract signed by such a person or, if no contract is signed, a copy of the written notice given to such person. A correspondence school whose home office is located outside of this state need maintain the foregoing records only for persons residing in this state. (Amended by Stats. 1971, Ch. 716.)
