§ 489 License Denial Without Hearing

Key Takeaways

  • •If a government agency already said 'no' to your license application in the last year for a specific reason, they can say 'no' again without a new meeting.
  • •This only happens if the first 'no' followed the proper rules and steps.
  • •The agency can do this if the reason for saying 'no' is the same as before.

Example

You apply for a driver's license, but you get rejected because you failed the driving test. A few months later, you apply again but haven't improved your driving skills.

The agency can reject your new application without another test or meeting because they already said 'no' for the same reason within the last year.
