§ 4432 Pharmacy Contract Compliance Rules

• •This law is about contracts between pharmacies and insurance companies or pharmacy benefit managers.
• •Any new or updated contract after January 1, 2013, must follow the rules in this chapter.
• •This law does not apply to contracts covered by a different law (Section 4600.2 of the Labor Code).

A local pharmacy signs a new contract with an insurance company to provide medicines to people with health insurance.

The contract must follow the rules in this law because it was signed after January 1, 2013. If the pharmacy doesn't follow these rules, they could get in trouble.
