§ 403 Department Building Management

Key Takeaways

  • •The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is in charge of any buildings they build.
  • •DCA can rent out space in these buildings to other government groups, and they decide the rent and rules.
  • •The money from rent is used to pay for building upkeep, repairs, and other costs.
  • •Any extra money after costs goes back to the state and other funds that helped pay for the building.

Example

The DCA builds a new office building and rents out some floors to another government agency.

The DCA sets the rent price and uses that money to pay for things like repairs and cleaning. If there's money left after these costs, it goes back to the state and any other funds that helped pay for the building.
