§ 3100 Optometry License Misrepresentation

Key Takeaways

  • •If you have a special license to check eyes (optometry), you can't lie about having extra skills you don't really have.
  • •If you pretend to know more than you do, you could lose your license for a while or forever.
  • •This rule is about being honest about what you can and can't do as an eye doctor.

Example

An eye doctor tells everyone they can do laser eye surgery, but they never learned how to do it.

The doctor is lying about their skills, so they could get their license taken away.
