§ 2224 Board Delegation Authority Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can let other people do investigations and checks, but they can't let anyone else punish a license holder.
  • •The board can't give away the power of the Senior Assistant Attorney General or the judges.
  • •The board can let the executive director handle some decisions like when someone gives up their license or when a license is automatically taken away.

Example

A doctor is accused of doing something wrong.

The board can ask someone else to look into what the doctor did, but only the board can decide to punish the doctor. If the doctor decides to give up their license, the executive director can handle that.
