§ 19819 Commission Meetings And Voting

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission has a main office in Sacramento where they do their work, but they can meet anywhere in the state if it helps the public more.
  • •Every vote they take must be written down and kept in their main office for everyone to see.
  • •At least three members must agree on any decision for it to be official.
  • •Most of their meetings follow the same rules as other government meetings, but some documents about job applicants are kept private.

Example

The commission wants to decide if a new park should be built in Los Angeles.

They can hold the meeting in Los Angeles instead of Sacramento if it helps more people attend. At least three members must vote 'yes' for the park to be approved, and their votes will be recorded and saved in Sacramento. If someone applies to work on the park, their job application details might stay private.
