§ 19487 Infield Racetrack Construction

Key Takeaways

  • •A racetrack can build a smaller track inside it, but the new track must be at least half a mile long.
  • •They need permission from the board before starting to build or prepare the new track.
  • •The board will check if having races on the new track is good for the public and fits the rules.
  • •Even if the new track is less than a mile long, they can still get a license to have harness races there.

Example

A big racetrack wants to build a smaller track inside it for pony races.

They have to ask the board for permission first. The board will check if the pony races are good for the public. If the board says yes, they can build the smaller track and have races there, even if it's less than a mile long.
