§ 18720 Boxing Round Limits

• •A boxing match can't have more than 12 rounds, and each round can't last more than 3 minutes.
• •If it's a championship fight, it can have up to 15 rounds, but only if the boxing commission says it's okay.
• •There must be a 1-minute break between each round.

A boxing match is planned for 15 rounds.

If the match isn't a championship fight, it can't have 15 rounds. It can only have up to 12 rounds. If it's a championship fight, the boxing commission must give written permission for it to have 15 rounds.
