§ 17202 Unfair Competition Penalties Enforcement

Key Takeaways

  • •This law helps stop businesses from cheating or lying to customers.
  • •If a company does something sneaky (like fake ads or copying another company), a court can make them stop right away.
  • •The court can also punish them, even if it’s not just about money.

Example

A toy company copies another company’s popular action figure and sells it as their own.

The court can order the copycat company to stop selling the fake toys and maybe pay a fine for being unfair.
