§ 12720 Altering Weighmaster Certificate Weights

A truck driver takes his truck to a weigh station to get a certificate showing how much his load of apples weighs. The truck's empty weight is written down first.

If the driver tries to change the empty weight of the truck before the apples are weighed, he is breaking the law. The empty weight must stay the same until the weight of the apples is written on the certificate.
