§ 118 License Application Withdrawal Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If you apply for a license and then try to cancel your application, the board can still say no to your license if they have a good reason.
  • •If your license expires, is taken away, or you give it up, the board can still punish you for breaking rules during the time it could have been renewed.
  • •The word 'license' here also means things like certificates, registrations, or permits.

Example

You apply for a driver's license but then change your mind and try to cancel your application. However, the DMV finds out you lied on your application.

Even if you cancel your application, the DMV can still refuse to give you a license because you lied. They don’t need your permission to keep looking into it.
