§ 10053 Commissioner Salary And Expenses

Key Takeaways

  • •The commissioner gets paid a yearly salary, just like a regular job.
  • •The salary amount is decided by another part of the law (Chapter 6).
  • •The state pays the salary every month from its money.
  • •The commissioner can also get money back for work-related expenses, like travel or supplies.

Example

Imagine the commissioner has to travel to a meeting in another city for work.

The state will pay for their gas or plane ticket because it’s a work expense. Just like if your boss pays you back for buying paper for the office.
